Pokémon enthusiasts have a captivating new destination on the horizon: South Korea’s picturesque Jeju Island. In a significant move to revitalize tourism, the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO), Pokémon Korea Inc., and the jeju Tourism Organisation have joined forces to launch the highly anticipated “2025 Pokemon Jeju Project: Pokemon Wonder Island in Jeju.”

Scheduled to run from October 2 to October 26, 2025, this immersive Pokémon-themed event will unfold across the stunning Yeomiji Botanical Garden and the expansive Jungmun Tourism Complex. Organizers revealed the exciting plans on July 17, aiming to draw both domestic and international visitors to the island.

The beloved Japanese media franchise, renowned for its video games, animated series, movies, and trading card game, is bringing a host of unique experiences to Jeju. Key attractions include a dedicated Pokémon-themed photo zone at Jeju International Airport, a special Pokémon GO stamp rally across designated PokeStops within Jungmun, and a pop-up store coupled with a mission tour at yeomiji Botanical Garden.

A major highlight of the project is the inaugural “Pokemon Run” in South Korea. This family-friendly running event promises a scenic journey along the cart paths of the Jungmun golf course, offering participants breathtaking views of Jeju’s mountains and coastline. Organizers are touting it as a novel Pokémon experience designed for the entire family.

The Pokémon GO stamp rally introduces an innovative in-game feature, allowing visitors to collect digital stamps at specific real-world locations.
