Jakarta, Indonesia - August 30, 2025 - National Mandate party (PAN) Chairman Zulhasni Syahputra, widely known as Zulhas, has instructed all members of the PAN faction in the DPR (House of Representatives) and DPRD (Regional People’s Representative Council) to demonstrate sensitivity and humility in their conduct. The directive, issued via a post on the Instagram account @amanatnasional Saturday, comes amid public scrutiny of several PAN lawmakers.
Zulhas urged members to “act, look, and speak according to propriety,” emphasizing the need to be “sensitive to the situation, full of empathy, do not flex, do not be arrogant. humble in hearing aspirations or responding to public criticism.” He also stated that all members must be prepared for evaluation regarding their status, position, benefits, and facilities.
The call for greater accountability follows recent controversies involving PAN representatives Eko Hendro purnomo, also known as Eko Pratrio, and Uya Kuya. Eko Pratrio publicly apologized for dancing at the MPR (People’s consultative Assembly) Annual Session, acknowledging it caused public unease and promising self-betterment.”With my humility Eko Patrio conveyed a deep apology to the public for the anxiety that arises from what I did,” he stated. He further affirmed his commitment to listening to public disappointment and recognizing the pain caused by his actions.
Uya Kuya also issued a public apology Saturday for a resurfaced video perceived as a challenge to netizens, compounded by his participation in the post-MPR session dancing. “I Uya Kuya conveyed the maximum apology, sincere from my heart that was the deepest for all indonesian people, for what happened how many days the last day, for what I did both intentionally or unintentionally,” Kuya said, acknowledging the deep hurt caused, especially to victims of recent clashes.
Zulhas concluded his message by requesting that the instructions be “digested, understood, enforced, practiced best, spreading wide.”
