NVIDIA RTX 5050 Costs 259 euros in Germany, mystery about release date – Computer – News

Nvidia’s RTX 5050 Graphics Card: Price Revealed, Release Dates Unclear

The tech world is buzzing as the price for the upcoming GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card in Germany has been announced. However, the exact release date remains a mystery, causing anticipation and speculation among gamers and tech enthusiasts eager for the new hardware.

Pricing Details Emerge

Nvidia has confirmed the GeForce RTX 5050 will retail for 259 euros in Germany, inclusive of VAT. This is the first time the price has been revealed in euros, as only the suggested retail price in US dollars was previously available. The RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti cards are priced slightly lower, at 324 and 405 euros respectively, than in the Benelux region.

The official suggested retail price of $249, when converted and including a 21 percent VAT, is approximately 256.99 euros. The disparity in pricing could impact consumer spending.

Release Date Uncertainty

Speculation surrounds the release date of the RTX 5050. Reports indicate the new Blackwell desktop card may launch in the latter half of July. However, other sources suggest a July release on Nvidia’s Chinese website. Driver availability is also slated for early July, according to Nvidia.

Some experts believe the different release timelines are due to video card manufacturers needing time to produce and ship their models globally. In the past year, the graphics card market generated over $45 billion in revenue, demonstrating its impact (Statista, 2024).

Production and Review Concerns

Benchlife explains that variations in release dates stem from the time required for video card manufacturers to produce and distribute their products worldwide. It is therefore possible that the RTX 5050 might appear sooner in China. Additionally, Nvidia has not expressed interest in a review program, similar to what occurred with the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti 8GB models.

This suggests a cautious approach, withholding pre-launch reviews from media outlets. The lack of widespread reviews may be due to production capacity.

As the launch window approaches, further announcements will likely clarify availability and regional specifics. Until then, enthusiasts will remain eagerly awaiting updates from Nvidia.
