Nothing’s CMF Watch 3 Pro: A Budget Fitness Smartwatch with AI

The CMF Watch 3 Pro has been unveiled, positioning itself as the brand’s most advanced wearable to date. It boasts enhanced health tracking capabilities and integrated AI coaching features.

Key upgrades include dual-band GPS for improved route accuracy and a new four-channel heart rate sensor, which CMF claims offers superior precision across diverse skin tones and workout intensities. The watch supports 131 sports modes, an increase of 11 from its predecessor, and features a personalized AI coach that provides post-workout analysis and training predictions, such as endurance forecasts for long-distance running.

Beyond updated heart rate and sleep monitoring, the Watch 3 Pro offers blood oxygen (SpO2) tracking, stress monitoring, guided breathing exercises, hydration and inactivity reminders, and women’s health tracking.

The device integrates ChatGPT for on-wrist voice queries and reminders, and includes a voice recorder with autotranscription for capturing thoughts on the go. Users can also leverage AI to create custom watch faces through the Watch Face Studio, which comes with over 120 pre-designed styles. Customizable widgets for fitness, weather, music, and reminders are available, along with a full-screen display option.

The CMF Watch 3 Pro features a 1.43-inch AMOLED always-on display with a 10% larger screen-to-body ratio compared to the Watch Pro 2.Battery life is rated at 13 days for typical use, a two-day improvement over the previous model. Intensive tracking is expected to yield around 11 days of battery, while enabling the always-on display reduces this to approximately 4.5 days.

CMF has transitioned its smartwatch lineup, including the Watch 3 Pro, to the Nothing X app, which promises enhanced stability and a more user-friendly interface. The app also offers compatibility with Strava, Apple Health, and Google Health Connect.

While the Watch 3 Pro offers a complete feature set for its price point, its performance against more premium alternatives remains to be seen. Previous CMF models have received mixed reviews, with some noting inconsistent fitness tracking and sensor detection. The Watch 3 Pro, despite its advancements, notably lacks NFC for payments. The CMF Watch 3 Pro is available now in Dark Grey, Light Grey, and Orange colorways for $99, representing a $30 increase from the watch Pro 2.
