North Korean leader Kim reaffirms support for Russia in Ukraine conflict: State media

**Kim** Affirms Support as Russia-North Korea Ties Deepen

As relations between Moscow and Pyongyang strengthen, **Kim Jong Un** has pledged unwavering support for Russia’s actions regarding the Ukrainian crisis, signaling a deepening alliance amid evolving global geopolitics.

Unconditional Backing for Russia

**Kim Jong Un** conveyed to **Sergei Lavrov** that North Korea is prepared to fully endorse the measures undertaken by the Russian leadership in response to current geopolitical shifts, according to the North Korean state news agency KCNA. This support aims to bolster global peace and security, as per **Kim**.

Joint Pledge of Sovereignty

**Lavrov** engaged in discussions with his North Korean counterpart, **Choe Son Hui**, in Wonsan. Following the meeting, a joint statement was released, committing both nations to protecting each other’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, KCNA reported.

“Kim Jong Un reaffirmed the DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) is ready to unconditionally support and encourage all the measures taken by the Russian leadership as regards the tackling of the root cause of the Ukrainian crisis.”

The deepening alignment comes as Russia faces international scrutiny; for instance, the U.S. recently imposed sanctions on individuals and entities accused of facilitating arms transfers between North Korea and Russia (U.S. State Department).

“Invincible Fighting Brotherhood”

On Saturday, Russian media quoted **Lavrov** describing the relationship between Russia and North Korea as “an invincible fighting brotherhood.” He also expressed gratitude for the troops **North Korea** deployed to Russia.

Military and Reconstruction Aid
