During Trump’s first presidential term, from 2016 to 2020, the two leaders met three times. North Korea’s Vice Foreign Minister, Choe Son hui, stated that the nation’s position as a nuclear weapons state is now an unassailable fact. She emphasized that any effort to deny this reality would be “entirely rejected.”
