Breaking: A 3.0 magnitude earthquake struck the tri-state area on sunday, April 7, 2024, at approximately 10:23 AM EDT. The epicenter was located near Old Tappan, New Jersey, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The tremor was widely felt across new York City, including all five boroughs – Manhattan, brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island – and extended as far as Connecticut. Initial reports indicate no serious injuries or significant structural damage. The New York City Office of Emergency management confirmed they had received no reports of building-related incidents as of late Sunday morning,despite the city containing over 1.1 million buildings.
