Breitling launches $75,000 Tourbillon Watch Aimed at Collectors
New York – Breitling has unveiled teh Premier B21 Chronograph Tourbillon 42, a new timepiece positioned as a collector’s item blending classic design with high-end watchmaking technology. The watch, priced at $75,000 (approximately 700,000 kroner), combines the aesthetic of Breitling’s Premier collection with the technical complexity of a tourbillon movement.
According to Georges Kern, Breitling’s CEO, the model “combines the timeless elegance of the Premier collection with the technical brilliance represented by the tourbillon.” The 42-millimeter watch is available in rose gold or platinum, hand-assembled in Switzerland, and features a dial in dark emerald, blue, or black.
The tourbillon, a mechanism designed to counteract the effects of gravity on timekeeping, is prominently displayed at 12 o’clock. Breitling states this feature is typically found in more expensive haute horlogerie watches. The dial contrasts deep colors with gold Arabic numerals, creating an understated elegance.
