NEW BEDFORD – Daily flights between New Bedford Regional Airport and Boston Logan International Airport are set to begin Monday, Sept. 29, with Cape Air.The 35-minute flights will offer a new travel option for South Coast residents, bypassing traffic congestion and potentially streamlining security checks.
The new service aims to connect New Bedford residents and those from surrounding areas to national and international flights more easily. Cape Air’s investment in the service has been lauded by New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell as a ”strong commitment” to both the airport and the city.He believes the flights will bring more business and economic momentum to the region.
A ceremony will be held at New Bedford Regional Airport before the inaugural flight, featuring remarks from Mitchell, as well as representatives from Cape Air and the airport, according to New Bedford Public Information Officer Jonathan Darling.
