Lukas Lekavičius has concluded an impactful career with Žalgiris,demonstrating that success in basketball hinges on performance rather than stature,according to Darius Maskoliūnas,who coached Lekavičius for many years at the club.
Lekavičius earned the Best Young Player award in the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) following his debut season. His performance also earned him an invitation to the 2015 European Championship under coach Jonas Kazlauskas.
The point guard, originally from Mažeikiai, returned from the tournament with a silver medal.
Lekavičius whent on to represent Lithuania in two more major international competitions: the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in China and the 2022 EuroBasket held in Germany.
