Apple has stated that Jon Prosser, who is currently being sued by the company, has not indicated if or when he will formally respond to the lawsuit. This comes after Prosser told The Verge earlier this week that he has been “in active communications with Apple as the beginning stages of this case.” A filing submitted by Apple on Thursday, reported by MacRumors, details the lack of response from Prosser despite acknowledging the complaint.
The lawsuit, filed in July, alleges that Prosser and Michael Ramacciotti engaged in “a coordinated scheme to break into an Apple development iPhone, steal Apple’s trade secrets, and profit from the theft.” Prosser had previously posted videos showcasing features expected in iOS 26 before their official release.A default judgment was entered against Prosser last week due to his initial failure to respond, and Apple intends to pursue damages and an injunction.
Ramacciotti, also named in the suit, admits to sharing information about iOS 26 with Prosser but claims “no underlying plan, conspiracy,or scheme was formed” between them. He further stated he “had no intent to monetize this information when he contacted Mr. Prosser, nor was there any arrangement at the time the information was conveyed that he would be compensation [sic].”
The thursday filing also reveals that Apple and ramacciotti have engaged in ”informally discussed settlement” talks.Prosser did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Verge.
