India Overtakes Japan to Become World’s Fourth Largest Economy
New Delhi – india has surpassed Japan to become the world’s fourth largest economy, according to recent analysis by consultancy Jupiter Asset Management. The shift, largely fueled by a growing economic clash in West Asia intensified by U.S.tariffs and a re-evaluation of globalization, marks a significant moment in the global economic landscape.
While global attention remains focused on the economic competition between the United States and China, India’s ascent has been a quieter, yet powerful, progress. Jupiter Asset Management projects India’s economy will continue to expand at a rate of 6.5% annually.
This growth is underpinned by a combination of favorable demographic trends, structural reforms, and strengthening institutions. India maintains important ties with Western economies while also playing a key role within the BRICS economic alliance. The consultancy estimates India overtook Japan in 2025.
