## Google Photos Gains AI-Powered Photo Editing with Veo 3
Google has integrated its Veo 3 artificial intelligence model into Google Photos, enabling users to edit photos directly within the gallery. The update expands beyond simply turning photos into short video clips, offering new creative possibilities.
According to a Google blog post published Thursday, September 4, 2025, users can access the new features by selecting the “Photo to Video” option in the Google Photos gallery. Veo 3’s “Remix” feature allows for stylistic changes, and users can also create collages with various frame options. The AI can also generate 3D cinematic-style photos, creating the illusion of movement while keeping the subject still. Additionally, the video highlight feature uses AI to compile photos into themed short clips based on user input.
Currently, access to Veo 3 is limited to users in the United States. Google states that free Google Photos users will have a limited number of AI generations per day, while Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers will receive increased generation allowances.
