Google Expands AI Educator Training Across Five New Countries
Teachers in Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Australia, and sub-Saharan Africa will soon gain access to the Google AI Educator Series (GES), a no-cost, on-demand training program designed to build practical AI skills for classroom use.

The Tech TL;DR:
- Google is expanding its free on-demand AI training program for educators to Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Australia, and sub-Saharan Africa.
- The expansion follows earlier rollouts in the U.S., India, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the U.K. and Ireland.
- Participating educators use tools like Gemini and Gemini Notebook to draft lesson plans, generate visuals, and handle administrative tasks.
The curriculum aims to help educators save prep time and meet individual student needs through accessible technical instruction. Google initially launched GES in the U.S. earlier this year before deploying the modules to India, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the U.K. and Ireland. The upcoming international expansion brings the resource to five additional regions over the coming months.
Indian Educators Access Self-Paced Online Modules
In India, following September sessions that trained 80,000 educators, the company is making GES available to all Indian educators through self-paced online modules. Aligned with National Education Policy 2020, the training is provided in English and six local languages—Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Assamese, Odia, and Punjabi—with more languages scheduled for release next year. Educators use Gemini and Gemini Notebook to convert complex topics into comic strips, podcasts, and infographics.
In the Philippines, the Philippine Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education, and Technical Skills Development Authority partnered to bring AI training to over one million educators. The Philippine Department of Education issued an official memorandum endorsing GES to all teaching and non-teaching staff nationwide, where teachers use Gemini to simulate market scenarios in economics classes.
Malaysian teachers reported saving three to five hours of prep time per topic on curricula and visual aids following the official launch of GES at BETT Asia. Google plans to launch train-the-trainer bootcamps with local partners to expand the program to private school educators, pre-service teachers, and university faculty.
British and Korean Teachers Utilize Digital Tools
In the United Kingdom, all 650,000 teachers can access digital literacy training through virtual and in-person events, supplemented by train-the-trainer workshops hosted at the Google London office in November. British teachers utilize Gemini Notebook to develop creative writing skills and construct lesson plans.

In Korea, the program operates in partnership with the Seoul National University of Education to align with the 2022 Revised Curriculum and the Ministry of Education’s Teacher AI/Digital Education Competency Framework. Korean teachers use the tools to design inquiry-based lessons and streamline administrative workflows like parent communications and data analysis.
