Shooting Targets dallas ICE Office, Inquiry Underway
DALLAS, TX – September 24, 2025 – Gunfire erupted wednesday morning at the Dallas field office of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), prompting an ongoing investigation. Authorities are treating the incident as “an act of targeted violence,” according to Joseph Rothrock, special agent in charge of the Dallas FBI branch, speaking at a press conference.
Police report the shooting began around 6:40 a.m. local time, with the suspect firing upon the ICE office from a neighboring building. The incident occurred at the field office, distinct from the ICE detention facility used for short-term holding of those recently arrested.
“It looks like it might very well be a sniper or someone who shot from a distance,” stated Tricia McLaughlin, a spokesperson, during a Wednesday appearance on Fox News.
The shooting comes two weeks after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot by a sniper during an event in Orem, Utah, raising concerns about a potential surge in political violence across the united States.
President Trump addressed the shooting on his social media platform, Truth Social, condemning the attack. He and other administration officials, including Vice President JD vance, have attributed the incident to “radically left-wing Democrats who constantly demonize law enforcement authorities,” according to CNN.Trump announced plans to further address the situation, stating, “We have already declared (movement) antifa as a terrorist organization and this week I will sign an executive order to remove these home terrorist networks.”
The incident occurs amid ongoing controversy surrounding ICE’s enforcement actions against undocumented immigrants. ICE detention facilities have become frequent sites of conflict, with clashes between agents and protesters frequently enough involving the use of pepper spray, tear gas, and other chemical irritants.
