Contract Employee Arrested for Burning Police HQ Invitation

Jakarta A 26-year-old woman, Laras Faizati, a contract employee at an international institution, has been arrested and detained since September 2, 2025, for allegedly inciting violence against the National Police Headquarters in South Jakarta.

According to Brigadier General Himawan Bayu Aji,Director of Criminal Acts of Siber Bareskrim Polri,Faizati – identified as the owner of the Instagram account @larasfaizati – was apprehended following the upload of video content deemed to provoke a mass exhibition to burn the Police Headquarters.

“We conducted an arrest of the suspect LFK as the owner, user, or ruler of the Instagram social media account @larasfaizati,” brigadier General Aji stated during a press conference on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

Authorities allege the content also aimed to incite hatred towards specific individuals or community groups based on nationality. Police confiscated Faizati’s mobile phone and the Instagram account as evidence.

Himawan further explained that the suspect is also accused of illegally transmitting electronic documents or public property. This arrest follows the recent detention of seven other social media account owners suspected of provoking unrest during demonstrations, as reported by Polri.
