The⁣ partnership arrives as ⁢Canada seeks to rebuild its relationship with India following a period of tension stemming from Royal Canadian ‍Mounted Police (RCMP) ⁣allegations⁢ of Indian involvement in the murder and extortion of Canadian ⁣citizens.

A joint statement released ⁢Saturday detailed that ACITI will leverage the unique strengths of each nation, with a particular focus on innovation in⁤ green energy and the creation of more ‌resilient supply chains,‌ especially concerning critical minerals. The collaboration will also explore ways to harness AI for the benefit of citizens in all three countries.

officials from Canada, Australia, and india have agreed to meet‌ in ⁢the ⁢first three ⁤months⁣ of⁢ 2026 to begin⁢ implementing the partnership’s goals.

Carney’s presence at the G20 summit ‌also coincided with the ⁤endorsement of a joint declaration ⁤by most member nations, despite a boycott‌ by‌ the United States. The declaration included provisions on climate ‌change, women’s rights, and the Middle East – areas where the Trump administration had previously expressed reservations.
