Tens of Thousands March in Berlin, European Cities Demanding End to Israel-Hamas War
Berlin, Germany – September 27, 2025 - An estimated 50,000 people flooded the streets of Berlin today, demonstrating in solidarity with palestinians in Gaza and calling for an immediate end to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. The massive demonstration reflects growing international pressure for a ceasefire and increased humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave.
Protesters, chanting slogans such as “Free Palestine,” marched through the city center from Alexanderplatz to the Victory Column in Tiergarten. The demonstration was organized by approximately 50 organizations, including Amnesty International and the german left-wing party die Linke, highlighting widespread concern over the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Beyond calls for a ceasefire, demonstrators urged the German government to halt arms exports to Israel and demanded the European union impose sanctions. Germany is a significant supplier of military hardware to Israel, alongside the United States and italy. While Berlin temporarily paused military exports destined for use in Gaza in August following concerns over a planned Israeli offensive, the calls for a permanent cessation of arms sales are growing louder.
“The scale of this protest underscores the deep empathy felt for the people of Gaza and the urgent need for a political solution,” said a spokesperson for Amnesty International Germany.
Police deployed around 1,800 officers to monitor the demonstration. Authorities were forced to disperse a separate pro-Palestinian protest in the Kreuzberg district due to the use of anti-Israel slogans.
