Apple to Unveil 5+ New Devices Next Week: iPhone 17e & Budget MacBook Expected

February 23, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

Apple will unveil a series of new devices over three days, beginning Monday, eschewing a traditional large-scale event in favor of press releases and updated product pages, according to reports. The rollout is expected to include the iPhone 17e and a more affordable MacBook, with at least five products anticipated.

The timing of Apple’s announcements coincides with the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, where much of the tech industry will be gathered. Apple has also invited select influencers and media representatives to “special experiences” in New York, London, and Shanghai on March 4, likely hands-on events allowing them to preview the new hardware.

The iPhone 17e is expected to feature the A19 chip, maintaining a similar design and camera system to its predecessor. It will also incorporate MagSafe technology for accessory attachment and potentially support up to 25-watt wireless charging – a significant upgrade from the 1.5-watt charging capability of the iPhone 16e. The device is rumored to retain the 6.1-inch OLED display, and is expected to start at $599 with 256GB of storage.

A key announcement is anticipated to be a 13-inch MacBook powered by the A18 chip, previously used in the iPhone 16 series. Benchmarks suggest this MacBook will offer performance comparable to MacBooks with Apple’s M1 chip, introduced in 2020. Apple aims to price this new MacBook at under $700, potentially even lower, by leveraging the efficiency of the A18 chip. The laptop is expected to maintain a premium aesthetic with an aluminum enclosure, manufactured using a cost-effective new process.

In addition to the iPhone 17e and the affordable MacBook, Apple is also expected to unveil updated MacBooks featuring M5 and M5 Pro chips, as well as new iPads powered by either the M4 or A18 chip. Apple launched a new series of iPhones at the complete of 2025: the iPhone 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, as well as a brand new iPhone Air, but there was no new iPhone 17e at that time. The iPhone 16e was released in February 2025 to replace the iPhone SE, so an update to the iPhone “e” series phones wasn’t expected until early 2026.
