The 18th International Animation Film Festival Animadeba culminates this Saturday with a diverse program of events. The final day begins at 10:00 a.m. at Kutxa Zuria with a video game analysis session, followed at noon by a talk titled ‘Radical Video Games Design’ led by philosopher Eurídice Cabañes.
The afternoon features a concert by Oma group at 1:30 p.m., a screening of the Basque-language animated feature film ‘Azerik ETA Erbik Basoa Salbatzen Dute’ for children at 5:00 p.m., and the opening of a local creators market at 6:00 p.m.
At 7:00 p.m.,Kutxa Zuria will host a screening of the final five animated short films competing for the festival’s official section prize: ‘PLA DE RÉSENCEENCE / MEALITANCY’ (France,2025) by Marie Royer-Zinia Scorier,’Mater Benefacta’ (Spain,2025) by Marc Riba and Anna Solanas,’Safo / Shappo’ (Brazil,2025) by Rosana Cities,’Percebs’ (Portugal-france,2024) by Alexandra Ramires and Laura Gonçalves,and ‘178’ (Russia,2025) by Alexey Alexeev. Films will be screened in their original language with Basque subtitles.
The festival terrace will host a bingo session with Albina Stardust and Divina Comedy at 8:00 p.m., followed by a DJ set by Iskra selectors at 9:00 p.m.
The day concludes with the 18th-anniversary party at 10:00 p.m. in Kutxa Zuria (entry €10), serving as the festival’s closing gala. The event will include the presentation of festival awards and musical performances by Ezezez, Putas Amak, and DJ Fetén.
