Alec Baldwin was involved in a single-vehicle car crash in East hampton, New York, on Monday, November 6, 2023, but reported no injuries to himself or his brother, Stephen Baldwin.
In a video posted to Instagram, Alec Baldwin explained that he was driving with his brother in his wife’s 2023 Range Rover when a large garbage truck unexpectedly cut him off on State Route 27 around 12:01 p.m. To avoid a collision with the truck, registered to National Waste Services out of Bay Shore, NY, Baldwin steered into a tree.
“to avoid hitting him, I hit a tree,” Baldwin said in the video, adding that the car was “pretty smashed up” after hitting the “big, fat tree.” He stated, “that’s all fine, and I’m fine, and my brother’s fine.”
The East Hampton Police Department confirmed the incident, stating the vehicle “struck a tree on the Eastbound shoulder of the roadway while avoiding the turning action of a 2020 Mack commercial truck.” Police reported no injuries and no summonses were issued, attributing the crash to a reaction to another vehicle and wet roadway conditions.The Baldwin brothers were in east Hampton for the Hamptons International Film Festival over the weekend. Baldwin indicated in the video he was traveling to Los Angeles to visit his family. He also thanked the East Hampton Police Department and the responding officer for their assistance.A representative for Alec Baldwin did not respond to a request for comment.
