While South Korea clinched the championship trophy in 2017 by defeating China 3-2, China has since reasserted its dominance, winning the finals for four consecutive tournaments since 2019. The sudirman Cup, a prestigious mixed-team badminton championship, requires a team to win three out of five events: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.

- Men’s Singles: Jeon Hyuk-jin’s defeat to Switch with a score of 0-2 (5-21, 5-21) substantially dampened the national team’s momentum.
- Women’s Doubles: Baek Ha-na and lee So-hee were defeated by China’s Ryu Sung-soo and Tanning Joe 0-2 (14-21, 17-21), securing the championship trophy for China on their home turf.
Ahn Se-young’s Remarkable Performance and Recovery
ahn Se-young’s victory was a testament to her resilience and skill. After securing the first game 21-17, she overcame an initial deficit in the second game, scoring seven consecutive points to seize control. Her performance is even more impressive considering her recent injury. Ahn Se-young, who had achieved the feat of winning four consecutive international competitions this year leading up to the Jeon Young Open, had to withdraw from the previous Asian Championships due to a thigh injury.She had also missed the Czech Republic leg of competition,but played women’s singles in five consecutive games,including Canada,Taiwan,Denmark,and Indonesia.
