Candace Owens Investigates Charlie Kirk’s Widow in New Series

WASHINGTON (TNND) — Conservative podcaster Candace Owens released a trailer Monday for “Bride of Charlie,” an investigative series focusing on Erika Kirk, the widow of slain Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. The trailer, posted on X, previews the first episode set to air Wednesday, February 25.

Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in September 2025 while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Tyler Robinson has been charged with his murder. Following her husband’s death, Erika Kirk assumed the role of CEO at Turning Point USA.

Owens has repeatedly questioned the official narrative surrounding Kirk’s death, suggesting Robinson may not have acted alone. In previous episodes of her podcast, she has speculated about the involvement of various actors, including the military and, without providing evidence, alluded to potential connections to Israel. She has also alleged betrayal by individuals within Kirk’s inner circle, according to reporting from Newsweek.

The release of the trailer has ignited a swift backlash. Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro branded Owens’ actions as “evil” and called for Erika Kirk to pursue legal action. “She is making money off the murder of Charlie Kirk by literally implicating his widow and everyone else at [Turning Point USA] in that murder, and then trying to dig up pseudo-dirt on the wife of the person who was murdered,” Shapiro said in a video posted to X.

The feud between Owens and Erika Kirk has been escalating for months. The two women met in December 2025 for a private, four-and-a-half-hour discussion in an attempt to address the growing tensions, according to a report from CNN. Both women described the meeting as “productive” at the time, but the release of the “Bride of Charlie” trailer suggests those efforts failed to resolve their differences.

The trailer itself features critical clips of Erika Kirk and references to “Zionists” and Israel, according to the New York Post. Meghan McCain, a media pundit, described the trailer as “pure, unadulterated, f–king evil” on X, expressing outrage at the prospect of Erika Kirk being subjected to further scrutiny following her husband’s assassination.

A spokesperson for Candace Owens told the New York Post that the series will “speak for itself,” declining to comment further on the criticism. As of Tuesday, February 24, Erika Kirk is attending the State of the Union address as a guest of President Trump.

Owens has previously published podcasts titled “Charlie Kirk Suspect Charged. Something Isn’t Right…”, “Who Ordered the Hit on Charlie Kirk?” and “They Are Lying About Charlie Kirk,” according to Newsweek. The Btimesonline reported Owens has also made claims about a “pattern” of associations tied to areas known for child trafficking, though no law enforcement agency has announced charges or investigations related to these allegations.
