Klopp concluded his tenure as Liverpool manager in the summer of 2024 and transitioned to a leadership position within the Red Bull organization. Though, his name remains in circulation amongst clubs ‌seeking a new manager.

Bild‘s report comes ‍in the wake of Bo Henriksen’s departure from Mainz. Klopp previously managed Mainz from ⁣2001 to 2008, before moving to Borussia Dortmund ‍and afterward Liverpool.

The German newspaper describes Klopp as a “dream solution” for Mainz, citing his strong ⁣existing relationship with ⁣Mainz sporting director Christian Heidel. Despite this, Bild acknowledges that a return to ⁤Mainz is “basically ‌unthinkable” for Klopp, even on ⁢a temporary basis.

Other candidates reportedly under consideration ‌by Mainz include Dane Bo Svensson and Urs Fischer, with Fischer currently considered the ⁢frontrunner.
