Indonesia Names Rifqi Ray Farandi as Replacement for Injured Marselino Ferdinand in SEA Games Squad
Jakarta, Indonesia – the Indonesian U-22 National Team has announced Persik Kediri midfielder Rifqi Ray Farandi as a replacement for Marselino Ferdinand in the squad for the upcoming 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. The tournament is scheduled to run from December 9-20, 2025, with sporting events commencing on December 3rd.
Head coach Indra Sjafri confirmed the decision after Marselino Ferdinand’s club,AS Trencin,informed the PSSI (Football Association of Indonesia) that the player would be unable to participate due to a recent injury.
“Marselino’s latest condition is an injury,and we decided to prioritize his future,” Sjafri stated on the Kita garuda website. “We agreed it was best for him to focus on recovery, and with Rifqi’s arrival, the squad is complete once again.”
