BARCELONA ⁢- the‍ Israel-Premier Tech cycling team will undergo a ‌significant transformation, rebranding as the NSN Cycling Team starting in⁢ 2026. The decision follows repeated disruptions during the Spanish Vuelta, where the team ⁢faced protests, ‌and exclusion from⁤ an Italian race.

This ⁢move ⁤is facilitated by a new partnership with international sports and entertainment company NSN (Never Say Never) and ⁤swiss-based investment platform Stoneweg, who‌ are‌ taking over the ⁤team’s ⁣structure.

NSN‍ was co-founded by former professional soccer player Andres iniesta, who amassed nearly 700 appearances for Barcelona and 131 caps for the spanish ⁣national team, captaining Spain to victory in the‌ 2010⁢ FIFA World cup.

“This new era marks a significant milestone in ‍the growth ⁣of ‌the team ‍and an chance to join forces with organizations united by shared values of ambition, excellence, and‍ the drive to inspire through sport,” NSN stated in a press ⁤release.

Kjell Carlström will continue to serve as the cycling team’s general manager. “We are proud ‌to welcome NSN and Stoneweg to‍ the team and announce our new name and identity,” ⁤Carlström commented.

The team previously experienced protests during the Spanish Vuelta‍ earlier ‌this year, with demonstrators objecting to their participation. Spanish government estimates placed ‍over 100,000 people on⁤ the streets of madrid during⁤ the final stage of the race.
