Kaia Gerber’s Trainer Reveals ‘lara Croft’ Inspired Gym Style Boosts Confidence & Performance
LOS ANGELES, CA – Celebrity trainer Kirsty Godso says embracing a style inspired by Angelina Jolie’s iconic lara Croft: Tomb Raider look is a surprising but effective “workout hack” for her client, model Kaia Gerber, and others. Godso, in a recent interview, detailed how Gerber’s adoption of the look - specifically baby tees and micro biker shorts – has resonated with women and empowered them during workouts.
“Kaia came into the gym in a Lara Croft look with a baby tee and micro biker shorts and I was obsessed,” Godso shared. She noted the popularity of Vuori‘s baby tees and low-rise shorts, stating, “It’s empowering to see women own their bodies.”
Godso believes that feeling confident in workout attire directly impacts performance. She emphasizes that Gerber is able to “work hard in the gym…in double layered camis and shorts rather of typical performance looking wear.”
Beyond style, Godso described Gerber’s rigorous fitness routine as one Croft herself would approve of, focusing on strength training, athletic pilates for lengthening and stability, and “calculated cardio” including fast sprints on a curved treadmill and heavy weightlifting.
Godso, who also runs the digital fitness platform Pyro, attributes her success to a coaching style she describes as “drill sergeant meets cheerleader,” prioritizing both accountability and encouragement. “I want everyone to feel good in their bodies,” she said.
Personally, Godso favors an “elevated casual mixed with tomboy” style, currently leaning into femininity with pairings like Vuori’s wide leg sweats and hoodies with halters. She describes herself as ”always in sport mode,” both professionally and in her personal style.
