gemini for TV Now Available on Google TV Streamer
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – Google is expanding access to Gemini for TV, its next-generation voice assistant, bringing the feature to google TV Streamer devices starting today.Previously limited to select smart TVs as its September launch, Gemini for TV is now accessible to a wider audience wiht a Google TV Streamer, an HDMI port, adn an internet connection - requiring HDCP 1.3 or later.
Gemini for TV replaces the Google Assistant on compatible devices, maintaining core voice command functionality while offering a more natural, conversational experience. Users can leverage Gemini for TV to receive personalized recommendations, such as movie suggestions tailored to preferred genres for multiple viewers, or request summaries of recent television episodes.Beyond entertainment, the assistant also supports smart home control, including displaying live camera feeds.
the rollout to Google TV Streamer devices will continue over the next few weeks.Users can check for the update within their device settings by navigating to “Accounts & Profiles,” then “Voice assistant,” where “Gemini for TV” will appear as an option if eligible.
