Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus Reemerges in Leaked Renders, Signaling Shift in flagship Strategy
New renders of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus have surfaced, revealing a redesigned camera island and confirming the model’s continued growth. The appearance of these renders marks a significant shift in Samsung’s reported plans for its 2026 flagship lineup, after speculation that the Plus model had been cancelled in favor of a slim “Edge” phone.
For months, Samsung’s S26 series has been the subject of conflicting reports. Initial leaks suggested a lineup consisting of an Ultra model, an Edge, and a smaller Pro variant. However, recent information indicates a return to a more conventional structure, with the Pro model replaced by a standard S26 and the Edge potentially sidelined.
According to Android Headlines, the S26 plus will measure 7.35mm in thickness – comparable to the Galaxy S25 Plus and notably thicker than the 5.8mm S25 Edge. this suggests the S26 Plus is not intended as a direct successor to the ultra-thin Edge. The standard S26 is also expected to be 7.24mm thick, slightly thicker than previously leaked specifications for the Pro model.
Despite the apparent cancellation of the Edge, a glimmer of hope remains for fans of slim designs. Dutch fansite Galaxy Club reported last month that a new Edge model, codenamed ”More Slim,” is still under development. It remains unclear whether this device will launch alongside the other S26 models or if it represents the final iteration of Samsung’s Edge series.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup is currently slated for release in early 2026.
