Tenerife Hit by Deadly Swell: Three Drownings Reported on Saturday
Tenerife, Canary Islands – A series of tragic incidents linked to strong swells resulted in three deaths on Saturday in Tenerife, a popular Spanish tourist destination. Authorities are urging caution along the coast as the Canary Islands remain on alert for ongoing coastal risks.
The fatalities occurred in separate incidents across the island. Emergency services transported a man who fell into the water at a beach in La Guancha,but he was pronounced dead upon arrival due to the severity of his injuries. Earlier in the day, another man was found floating near El Cabezo beach and could not be revived despite resuscitation attempts.
in Puerto de la Cruz, a large wave swept away ten people.While nine were rescued with injuries – three seriously and requiring hospitalization – a woman suffered cardiac arrest and could not be resuscitated.
