Guillermo del‌ Toro’s “Frankenstein” Ignites Fan Celebrations with Dazzling Drone Displays

Guillermo ‍del Toro’s adaptation of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” is electrifying audiences with ⁢a series of immersive events ahead of its Netflix debut on November 7. Celebrations ‌culminated in spectacular drone shows simulating lightning storms over iconic‍ Los Angeles adn New York City landmarks.

the film, starring Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, and Christoph Waltz, marks the culmination of over 15 years of planning ⁣for del Toro, who described the project as closing “a huge episode in my life” at the Toronto International Film Festival. The promotional campaign aims to build excitement for the movie’s release on the streaming platform after a limited theatrical ⁣run.

The festivities began Thursday with a 1,500-drone display‌ above the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, spelling out the film’s title. The following day, six coordinated drone shows recreated a lightning storm above the Hotel⁣ Roosevelt ⁢and Capitol Records building in Hollywood. Similar lightning effects illuminated⁢ the Tiffany & Co. flagship store on Fifth Avenue​ in New⁢ York City, complementing⁢ window displays ​inspired by scenes from the movie.

A Halloween screening at the Chinese Theater saw⁤ fans dressed in del Toro-inspired costumes,‍ receiving custom ‌”Frankenstein” popcorn buckets and limited edition posters.The film’s Instagram account shared footage of the drone shows with the caption, “A storm is brewing.”

The Hollywood Reporter’s chief film critic, David Rooney, hailed the film as “one of del Toro’s finest,” praising its⁣ “epic-scale storytelling ​of uncommon beauty, feeling and artistry” in a recent review.
