by Rachel Kim – Technology Editor

Microsoft is rolling out “vibe working”⁢ features to Excel and ‌Word, aiming to enhance‌ collaborative ⁤document editing by visualizing real-time ⁢contributions. Announced September 29, 2025, teh ‌new tools display where collaborators are actively working within a document through dynamic, color-coded indicators. The update addresses a growing need for clearer communication in remote and‍ hybrid work environments.⁢ Previously, simultaneous editing could led⁤ to accidental overwrites or confusion about who⁣ was responsible ‍for specific changes.microsoft’s “vibe working” aims to mitigate these issues by providing a visual portrayal of ⁣ongoing activity, fostering‍ a more fluid and transparent collaborative experience for the estimated 2.5 billion ⁣Microsoft 365 users. The features are ⁣currently being tested ‍with Microsoft 365 Insiders and are expected⁤ to‍ become⁤ widely available in the coming ⁢months.
