‘Halloween: The Game’ Confirmed for September 2026 Release, New Trailer unveiled
Horror fans mark your calendars: IllFonic and gun Interactive’s Halloween will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox series X|S, and PC on september 8, 2026. The proclamation, made during the Sony State of Play presentation, comes alongside a brand-new gameplay trailer showcasing the asymmetric stealth horror experience.
Halloween plunges players into the terrifying world of Haddonfield, Illinois, allowing them to either survive as a civilian or embody the iconic Michael Myers. This asymmetrical horror sandbox challenges players to either protect townsfolk, scavenge for resources, and call for help, or stalk and eliminate victims using Myers’ signature abilities like Shape jump.
The game aims to deliver a chilling tribute to John Carpenter’s original 1978 classic, offering both single and multiplayer modes.”Our goal is to push the horror experience to the next level with single and multiplayer modes so players can get the most out of the game,” said IllFonic CCO Jared Gerritzen. “Whether they become the boogeyman or fight to protect Michael Myers’ victims, Halloween promises an unforgettable battle of fear and survival.”
Adding an extra layer of authenticity, the game will feature motion capture performed by Nick Castle, the original actor who portrayed Michael Myers in the 1978 film. Halloween will be available on PlayStation 5 via the PlayStation Store, Xbox Series X|S via the Xbox Store, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
