BYD Expands DM-I Lineup with New Seal 6 Launch in Canary Islands
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria – BYD has expanded its Dual Mode Bright (DM-I) hybrid vehicle offerings in the Canary Islands with the arrival of the Seal 6 DM-I, following the positive reception of the SEAL U DM-I. The new model is available as both a sedan and a touring variant,promising up too 105 kilometers of all-electric range for the sedan and approximately 100 km for the touring model,with a combined total range exceeding 1,500 kilometers.
The Seal 6 DM-I maintains BYD’s established design language, featuring a sporty posture and crystalline-inspired headlights. The touring version adds practicality with a 1,535-liter trunk capacity.
Inside, the vehicle offers seating for five adults with a focus on material quality and spaciousness, particularly in the rear seats. The Dual Mode Intelligent technology manages the hybrid system, switching between electric and thermal modes for optimized efficiency. It utilizes BYD’s Blade Battery, known for its durability, and includes a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function capable of supplying up to 3.3 kW to external devices.
Performance figures indicate a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of under nine seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h.
The Seal 6 DM-I range includes three versions: Boost (184 hp, 10.08 kWh battery), Comfort Lite, and Comfort (212 hp, 19 kWh battery with fast charging). Standard features on even the base Boost model include metallic paint, LED headlights, digital instrumentation, a 12.8-inch touchscreen, parking sensors, and a rear camera. Higher trims add 18-inch tires, a larger 15.6-inch screen, ambient lighting, darkened windows, wireless charging, and an eight-speaker sound system. the touring version further includes an electric rear gate, roof rails, and window cleaning functionality.
Pricing for the Seal 6 DM-I starts at €30,579 for the Boost sedan and €31,818 for the touring model in the Canary Islands. With the request of the Moves III Plan and financing promotions, prices can be reduced to €20,265 for the sedan and €21,504 for the touring variant.
