Montblanc Enters Digital Notepad Market with $905 Luxury E-Ink Tablet
NEW YORK – Montblanc, renowned for its luxury pens and leather goods, has launched its first dedicated digital writing tablet, the Montblanc Digital Paper, priced at $905. The device combines a black-and-white e-ink screen with a digital pen modeled after the company’s iconic Meisterstück, aiming to deliver a premium writing experience for discerning customers.
While the e-ink tablet market is populated by competitors like Remarkable, Montblanc is positioning its offering as a luxury item focused on experience rather than cutting-edge technology. The Digital Paper features a 3740 mAh battery, a magnetically attached pen that charges wirelessly and offers over 4,000 levels of pressure sensitivity, and interchangeable pen tips designed to mimic different paper textures. It allows users to jot notes, sketch, and annotate documents in epub or PDF format.
Montblanc previously explored digital writing with its Augmented Paper line and styli for Samsung devices, but the Digital Paper represents a notable step into new territory for the brand. A calf leather folio is available separately for $205. The company emphasizes the aesthetic integration of the device into a luxury lifestyle, suggesting it complements items like solid oak desks, gold name plates, and humidors.
