Apple’s dedicated sports app, Apple Sports, has launched in eight additional European countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, and Sweden. The app was initially released in the United states in September 2024 and is compatible with iPhone models running iOS 17.2 or later.
This expansion marks a importent step in Apple’s broader push into the sports media landscape, offering users live scores, real-time updates, and a streamlined experience free from advertisements and fan commentary. While the app’s availability remains limited geographically, the rollout to these key European markets signals Apple’s intent to become a major player in global sports coverage, especially as anticipation builds for major international events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
