Spring Grove Vigil Honors Fallen Officers

SPRING‌ GROVE, Pa. – Communities across Spring Grove are mourning the loss of three police officers killed‌ in​ a Wednesday afternoon ambush in⁢ North Codorus Township, with vigils held throughout the‌ area, including a gathering at ‌St. Paul Lutheran Church on ⁢S. Main Street. ⁢The outpouring‌ of grief reflects the profound impact of the⁤ tragedy‌ on‌ this York County community.

the St. Paul Lutheran Church drew at least 150 people seeking to honor ⁤the fallen officers ‌and offer⁣ support to thier⁣ families and fellow ‍law enforcement. Located just‌ two miles ⁣from the site of the shooting, the church ‌served as ⁢a focal point for ​remembrance. Attendees ‍expressed deep sorrow and ⁢a sense of⁤ collective loss.

“We’ll no ⁢longer have them;⁤ the community will no ⁤longer​ have‌ them.We’ve lost some‌ very,very nice men,” one ‌attendee ⁢shared. Another remarked, “Such a sad and somber time. I feel for the families, even for the parents ‌of the boy that, you know, did the shooting. And it just brings us all together, just to remember them and not forget them.”

Along ‌with the vigils, the ‌community is demonstrating⁣ its respect ⁣by ⁣flying flags at half-staff, illuminating outdoor spaces with blue lights, and establishing ⁣memorials at the Northern York County Regional Police Department, where the officers were ‌stationed.
