WhatsApp to Introduce Message Reminders with Version 25.25.74 Update
Berlin – WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature designed to help users keep track of important, unanswered messages. According to Wabtainfo, the update to version 25.25.74 will introduce notifications for chats, allowing users to set reminders for specific messages.
The “News Actions” menu will allow users to set a reminder timeframe - either two or four hours, or 24 hours – to be alerted to a selected message. A bell symbol will appear on the display as a notification, linking directly back to the message and chat. Users can also specify a custom time for the reminder.
Currently, the feature is only available to beta testers on iOS. Android users can utilize workarounds, such as marking conversations as unread (though this doesn’t disable read receipts) or transferring messages to task management apps like microsoft To Do or Google Keep.
This update addresses a common user pain point – the ease of overlooking messages within busy chats - and provides a built-in solution for prioritizing communication within the platform.
