Ofia, known on teh platform for her hair care tips, recommended the Dermax Scalp Revitaliser and L’Oreal Paris Bond Repair in a video that has amassed over 494,000 views.
The video prompted a wave of comments from TikTok users eager to share their experiences. One user stated, ”This is so helpful!” Another confirmed, “I use the L’Oréal growth shampoo and bond repair serum. I love both.” A third shared, “I’ve started a routine and feel so much better! Wouldn’t have known where to start without you. Thank you so much for showing a science-based approach that will actually work.”
Meanwhile, hair health expert Anabel Kingsley, Consultant Trichologist and Brand President at Philip Kingsley, cautioned against quick fixes.Speaking to Fabulous, Kingsley explained that hair grows, on average, half an inch a month and this growth rate cannot be accelerated.
Regarding popular trends like rosemary oil, Kingsley referenced a 2015 study involving 50 men, noting, “No women were involved, and the study compared the effects of 2 per cent minoxidil to Rosemary oil. 2 per cent minoxidil doesn’t do much for male pattern hair loss anyway, so the results were not vrey remarkable.” She did acknowledge oils’ benefits for conditioning, adding shine and improving combability. scalp massages, she said, can be relaxing and aid lymphatic drainage, but “won’t cure hair loss.”
Kingsley recommended Philip KingsleyS Density Preserving Scalp Drops for slowing hair loss with continued daily use over three months. She also highlighted the importance of nutrition, suggesting iron-rich foods like red meat and dark leafy greens, Vitamin B12 from animal products, and protein from sources like oily fish and tofu. However, she stressed that underlying causes of hair loss should be addressed by a specialist such as a Trichologist, rather than masked with over-the-counter products.
