Police to Question Sherina Munaf in Connection wiht Uya Kuya Cat Theft
East Jakarta Metro Police plan to summon singer Sherina Munaf as a witness regarding the theft of cats belonging to television personality Uya Kuya.The move follows Sherina’s public statements concerning the incident and a warning directed at those involved in stealing or trading the animals.
the inquiry stems from a looting incident at the home of Uya Kuya’s in-laws in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, on August 30, 2025, during which several cats were taken. Twelve suspects have already been named in connection with the attack and looting, accused of roles ranging from provocation to assaulting officers. Police are continuing to investigate other potential actors involved in the case.
Sherina addressed the situation in a short video, noting the cats appeared to be in good health and were again able to play. She strongly emphasized that Uya Kuya’s cats woudl not be sold, stating, “We emphasize: To anyone who stole or trades these cats, you are in our observation.”
Police are seeking clarification from Sherina regarding her statements and any information she may possess related to the stolen animals. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to recover the cats and bring all those responsible to justice.
