U.S. Launches Expedited Visa Program for 2026 World Cup Ticket Holders
WASHINGTON D.C. – The U.S. State Department announced today the creation of the FIFA Priority Appointment Scheduling System (FIFA PASS),designed to streamline visa processing for international fans planning to attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosted in the United States,Canada,and Mexico. The program guarantees fans with valid World cup tickets prioritized access to visa interviews, addressing a key hurdle for international travel.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino hailed the initiative as a step toward making the 2026 World Cup “the largest and most inclusive in history,” stating, “America welcomes the world.The 2026 FIFA World Cup is one of the most anticipated globally and the support of the United States government to ensure that fans can arrive is essential.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio urged prospective travelers to apply promptly, saying, “The United States is offering prioritized appointments for World Cup fans…can complete their visa interviews and demonstrate that they qualify. Kickoff is approaching, so now is the time to apply. We are honored to host the largest and safest World Cup in history.”
The State Department encourages fans requiring U.S. visas to begin the application process “effective immediately” through the department’s official portal. Detailed instructions on utilizing the FIFA PASS system will be distributed to ticket holders in early 2026. Fans from countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program may be eligible for visa-free travel via the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).
