The public and international advance ticket sales for the 2027 Men’s World Championship will commence on Monday, december 15th, at 12 p.m.

The 2027 Men’s World championship will be hosted across six major German cities, promising a spectacular showcase of handball talent:

The tournament is set to begin on January 13th, 2027, with preliminary round matches taking place in Munich, Stuttgart, Kiel, and Magdeburg. The top three teams from each of the two groups of four will advance to the main round, hosted in Cologne and Hanover from January 20th.The thrilling conclusion, including the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final, will all be held in Cologne from January 26th to 31st, 2027. This marks exactly 20 years as Germany’s triumphant World Cup victory in 2007.

The German national team, under the guidance of national coach Alfred Gislason, will commence their 2027 World Championship journey in Munich, with aspirations to progress to the main round in Cologne.

Germany was awarded the hosting rights for the 2027 men’s World Championship by the International Handball federation (IHF) back in 2020. The DHB unveiled the six host cities in October of the previous year.qualification matches are currently underway, with host nation Germany and four-time world champions Denmark already confirmed participants. The majority of qualification spots will be decided through the EHF Euro 2026, other continental championships, and European play-offs in the coming spring. A total of 32 teams will compete in the 2027 World Cup, making it a truly global event.

This tournament is a notable milestone in the “decade of handball,” which began with the U21 World Cup in 2023 and continues to build momentum.
