Diana Rodríguez will represent Colombia at the 73rd Miss Universe competition, scheduled for Mexico City on September 28, 2024. The 25-year-old from Cali, valle del Cauca, secured the national title during the Miss Colombia pageant held in Barranquilla on June 17, 2024.
Rodríguez’s victory marks a significant moment for the Valle del Cauca department, which hasn’t held the Miss colombia title as 1999, when catalina Robayo was crowned.Her selection as Miss Colombia and subsequent representation of the nation at Miss Universe carries the expectation of continuing Colombia’s strong performance in international pageants; the country has previously achieved two Miss Universe wins – in 1993 with Paulina Vega and in 2015 with Andrea Tovar. Rodríguez will aim to succeed sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, the current Miss Universe, and bring the crown back to Colombia.
