Utah Measles Cases Rise: Locations of Exposure and Symptoms

SALT LAKE ‍CITY – Utah health officials⁣ reported Wednesday that the ‍number of measles cases in the state has climbed to 53.

The⁣ Southwest Utah Health district continues to be the epicenter ⁣of the outbreak, accounting for 39 ‍cases,‌ including eight newly identified infections.

According​ to the Utah Department of ​Health and Human Services’ ​ Measles Dashboard, the Utah County Health District has confirmed seven⁣ cases, while the ⁣Bear River Health District reports four.

Individuals who visited ‌the following locations are advised to monitor for symptoms:

* Innova Tech,4360 Wecco Road in Cedar City,on Sept. 26.* El Cappuccino Bistro, 1065 utah Avenue‍ in Hildale, on Sept. 21,between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
* ‍ Redrock Pediatrics, 1380 E. Medical Center Drive, Ste. 3100 in St. George, on Sept. 19, between 8:45 a.m.and 11:00 a.m.
* Water Canyon High School, 880 ‍N. ⁢Carling Street in Hildale, on Sept. 25.Health officials are actively investigating potential ​exposure locations as new cases⁣ emerge.Measles symptoms typically appear⁤ 7-14‌ days after exposure. Early symptoms include a high‍ fever, cough, runny nose, and red eyes.⁤ Anyone experiencing these symptoms is urged to avoid contact with others and seek immediate medical attention.
