Trump Proposes Steep China Tariffs,Demands Unified NATO Sanctions on Russia to End Ukraine War
Washington D.C. – Former U.S. President Donald Trump has proposed imposing a considerable tariff – ranging from 50% to 100% – on all goods imported from China, linking the measure directly to ending Russia’s war in Ukraine. in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump also reiterated his willingness to levy significant sanctions against Russia, but only if all NATO member states agree to a unified approach, including ceasing all purchases of russian oil.
The proposal represents a significant escalation in Trump’s rhetoric regarding both China adn the ongoing conflict. He stated the China tariffs would remain in effect untill the Ukraine war concludes,at which point they would be “fully withdrawn.”
Notably, Trump’s statement did not address India, a nation that has faced criticism from Washington for continuing to purchase Russian energy. This omission comes amidst ongoing trade negotiations between the U.S. and India, where New Delhi currently faces a 25% tariff penalty for its Russian oil purchases, and a broader 50% tariff.
“I am ready to do major Sanctions on Russia when all NATO Nations have agreed, and started, to do the same thing, and when all NATO Nations STOP BUYING OIL FROM RUSSIA,” Trump wrote. He then directly called for a collective tariff on China from all NATO nations.
The move follows increased pressure from the Trump management on European allies and other G7 nations to implement tariffs on countries supporting Russia’
