Tol Japek II Selatan Opens to Ease Return Traffic Congestion | One-Way System & Rest Area Updates
Gerbang Tol Cikampek Utama (Cikatama) is prepared for the anticipated surge in traffic during the peak of the Lebaran 2026 return flow, with preparations including the operation of up to 26 toll gates, according to PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol.
As of Tuesday, March 24, 2026, Jasa Marga has activated 22 toll gates at Cikatama, with the potential to increase to 26 depending on traffic conditions, particularly with the implementation of the national one-way system, stated Ria Marlinda Paalo, Wakil Direktur Sekretaris Korporat dan Legal PT Jasa Marga Transjawa Tol. The one-way system, beginning Tuesday, extends from KM 414 at the Kalikangkung toll gate on the Batang-Semarang toll road to KM 70 at Cikatama on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.
In addition to maximizing toll gate operations, Jasa Marga is deploying 17 mobile readers to expedite transactions at Cikatama and has prepared five toll gates at Cikatama 8 for use when traffic volume from Trans Jawa increases significantly. “Every shift, we have prepared these 17 mobile readers, which are useful for assisting when transaction queues become lengthy. Our officers will be ready on the field,” Paalo said.
The preparations at Cikatama come as Jasa Marga anticipates over 120,000 vehicles will pass through the toll gate during the peak of the return flow. As of 3 hours ago, approximately 23,610 vehicles had already traversed the toll gate, according to Instagram posts from ANTARA Foto.
Elsewhere on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, Jasa Marga is implementing a temporary open-close policy at the KM 62B rest area in the direction of Jakarta to manage congestion. This measure is part of a broader effort to address the anticipated traffic surge during the Lebaran holiday.
