Toronto and Vancouver to Host Belgium, Germany and Croatia During 2026 World Cup
Toronto’s BMO Field and Vancouver’s B.C. place Stadium will host matches featuring Belgium, Germany, and Croatia during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, tournament organizers announced.
Belgium will play in Toronto on June 12 against Italy, ranked No. 12, as part of the European playoffs.Germany will also feature in Toronto, wiht a potential Round-of-32 matchup at BMO Field involving the runners-up from Group K and L, which could include Germany alongside Colombia and Croatia.
Vancouver’s B.C. Place Stadium will host Croatia, alongside other international teams. Croatia is scheduled to play England in Group L play at AT&T Stadium in Texas, but will also participate in matches held in Vancouver. Additionally, Switzerland, ranked No. 17, will play at B.C. Place on June 24. Qatar, ranked No. 51, will also play at the Vancouver venue on June 18.
Should Canada win its group,they would remain in Vancouver for their round-of-32 game and potentially a round-of-16 matchup. If Canada finishes second in its group, it will face the second-place team from Mexico’s Group A.
The selection of venues reflects stadium capacity,with BMO Field and B.C. Place both holding 54,000 spectators, though smaller than some of the NFL stadiums hosting matches in the United States.
