Ubisoft Announces ⁢Record Launch for Anno 117: Pax Romana

Mainz, Germany – October 25, 2024 – Ubisoft Mainz‌ announced today that Anno 117: Pax Romana is the “fastest selling​ title” in the franchise’s ⁣25+ year history. ‌The building strategy game, ‌released November 13th for PC, ‌PlayStation 5, adn Xbox Series X/S, has achieved what Ubisoft describes as an “remarkable start” wiht “unprecedented sales figures” and an “unprecedented number of players.”

While⁤ specific sales numbers remain undisclosed, Anno 117 ‌ currently holds the⁣ top spot ‌on the German Steam top seller charts and⁤ maintains a leading position internationally, including⁣ in France, Great Britain,⁤ and the USA.

The game has⁤ garnered positive reception from critics, praised for its detailed game ⁤world and innovations like diagonal road construction, achieving an⁢ average Metacritic score of 85 – the highest in the‍ Anno series to date.

Ubisoft reports an ⁢average player engagement of three hours per day, indicating significant ⁣investment in building and expanding Roman empires within the game.

The​ development ‌of Anno 117: Pax‍ Romana ‍ received⁤ €5.7 million in funding​ from the ⁢German federal government’s games funding programme, continuing support previously provided to⁤ the console version of Anno 1800 and its expansions.

The launch was briefly ⁣impacted by ‍technical issues in multiplayer mode and⁢ a discussion regarding the unintentional inclusion of‍ AI-generated placeholder ‍assets, which Ubisoft states are ⁣being replaced.
