Southern Arizona Election Results Roll In:⁢ Schubert Leads in Ward 6, Propositions Show Strong Support

TUCSON, Ariz. – Initial results from Election Day across southern Arizona indicate a strong showing for Miranda Schubert in the Ward 6 city council race and⁢ widespread support for several key propositions ⁤on local ballots. As⁢ of the frist vote count, Schubert leads⁢ with 67% ⁢of the vote ‍against​ Jay Tolkoff.

These results signal potential‍ shifts in local governance and significant investment in education ‍and ⁣infrastructure across the region. Voters‍ weighed in on school ‍funding overrides and bond measures, as‍ well‍ as a comprehensive city planning update, and ‍a critical public safety measure in Cochise⁤ County.

Four propositions were on the ballot for Tucson voters:

* Prop. 414 ‌- Tucson Unified – 15% M&O Budget Override: Leading with ⁤56% of‍ the ⁤vote.
* ‌ Prop. 415 – Flowing Wells Unified – $30M Bond Election: Leading⁢ with 55% of the vote.
* ‍ Prop. 416 – Sunnyside Unified – ‍$120M Bond⁤ Election: Leading with 58% of the vote.
* Prop. 417 – Plan Tucson 2025: ​ Leading with 62%​ of the vote.

In Cochise County,voters considered a sales tax increase to‌ fund a new jail. ⁤The measure has received 52% of the vote so far. Cochise County ⁢Sheriff Mark Dannels discussed the ​importance of⁤ the measure.
