New York Comic Con 2025 delivered a wave of frist looks at upcoming series and collaborations, including trailers for Disney+’s Wonder Man, Prime Video’s Cross season two, and a Magic: The Gathering and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover. The announcements signal a continued push for diverse content across streaming platforms and collectible card games.
The Wonder Man limited series, debuting on Disney+ in January, is positioning itself as a potential course correction for Marvel’s recent cinematic and television output. The teaser centers around auditions for the titular role and features a mock interview with the film’s fictional director, Von Kovak (Zlatko Burić). Kovak acknowledges audience fatigue with the superhero genre, stating, “Everyone is tired of superheroes. Why go see them in the cinema?” and promises “an prospect to shock audiences” following the underwhelming performance of Thunderbolts,Fantastic Four: First Steps,and Captain America: Brave New World.
Prime Video unveiled a trailer for the second season of Cross, based on James Patterson’s alex Cross novels. The series follows D.C. homicide detective Aldis Hodge as he pursues a serial killer targeting corrupt billionaires. Hodge’s character declares, “This begins and ends with me,” setting a serious tone for the season, which premieres February 11.
Wizards of the Coast also showcased a collaboration between Magic: The Gathering and teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at NYCC. The set is part of the “Universes Beyond” collection, which has previously featured cards inspired by The Walking Dead, Doctor Who, and Fallout.
